The Howard J. Weston Community & Senior Center, located at 1 Bassett Ave, New Castle, DE 19720, is a vibrant and active hub for individuals 50 and over. Established in 1978, the center’s mission is to support the independence and well-being of older adults, fostering their dignity, self-respect, and participation in the community.

You’ll be pleased to know that there are no annual membership fees or dues required to join the center. As one visitor noted, “Wonderful Senior Center. No fee to belong and numerous activities to become involved with at a small charge.”

The center offers a wide array of activities and services to keep both mind and body engaged. These include:

Fitness and Recreation: Billiards, shuffleboard, line dancing, low-impact cardio, and chair yoga.
Arts and Crafts: Ceramics, quilting, and various crafting activities.
Social and Educational: Bingo, card games, and informational services such as Legal Aid, Tax Assistance, and Medicare Assistance.
Trips and Tours: The center organizes both day trips and extended tours to various destinations.
Nutrition Program: A daily lunch is available. While there is no membership fee, the in-house lunch has a small cost.
The Howard J. Weston Community & Senior Center also houses an Adult Day Care for seniors who require more individualized care.
