Ignacio Senior Center

The Ignacio Senior Center, operated by Southern Ute Community Action Programs (SUCAP), is located at 15345 Highway 172 on the Southern Ute Reservation in Ignacio, Colorado. The center is a vital resource for the community, aiming to help seniors maintain their independence and well-being.

A major focus of the Ignacio Senior Center is its nutrition program. It provides congregate meals three times a week and offers a Meals on Wheels service for homebound individuals five days a week. The center also provides transportation services for seniors in the Ignacio area, including trips to Durango.

In addition to meal services, the center offers a variety of activities and programs. These include exercise classes, games, and social events. The staff also provides information and referral services, as well as assistance with medical providers, insurance issues, and Social Security. The center has previously offered State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counseling to help seniors with Medicare Part D.
