The SAGE Center at 381 Main Street is the home of the West Newbury Council on Aging. The center’s mission is to provide a variety of support services and programs designed to enrich the lives of West Newbury residents aged 60 and over.
The center offers a wide range of health and wellness services, including fitness classes like yoga and tai chi, foot care, and blood pressure clinics. It also serves as a hub for social and recreational activities, with a robust calendar that features card games, mahjong, knitting groups, craft classes, and bingo.
In addition to on-site activities, the SAGE Center provides crucial support services to the community. These include transportation for shopping and other appointments, a medical equipment lending program, and a food pantry. The center also hosts both congregate and home-delivered meal programs to address food security.
