Whether you’re new to Skype or need a refresher, this guide ensures you can effortlessly navigate the app and enjoy seamless video conversations with your loved ones.
Tip: To get started we are going to first turn on our phone and enter our password. Then you can swipe down on the first page that opens to open up the search bar!
1. Once the search bar is open we will type Skype and press “Get”
2. We can just wait for it to download and then we should press open.

4. After logging in we will be prompted to allow access to contacts. This makes it easy to add in your family members. You can press allow but for this tutorial we are going to press don’t allow. Don’t worry as you can always add this later.
5. You will then be prompted for camera and microphone access. Press “allow” on all of these popups.
6. You will then be directed here. Click the blue icon in the bottom right to start a video call.
7. This will open this screen. Press meet now to start a video call.
8. This will give you a place to type the name of the event.
9. After naming it press start now to start the call. Here you can also copy the link right below where you named the meeting. Copy and share this link via text or email with whoever you want to join the call!
10. If you forgot to copy your link don’t worry. You can press invite on the next screen and it will give you your link that you can copy and send again!
11. To turn on or off your camera press this button in the bottom left. If this icon is blue then it is on if it is not blue it is turned off!
12. To turn on or off your mic press the button directly next to the camera button. If this icon is blue then it is on if it is not blue it is turned off!
13. You can some useful settings in the 3 dots in the far right corner.
14. Here you can find “ allow incoming video” this should be turned on so you can see other people’s video!
15. Press the red button in the top right corner to end the call.
16. After you end the call it will direct you to send a message to everyone who joined. You can send anything you would like here.
17. Tap the blue arrow to send
